A) La Corta

Accanto alla line della Funicolare, partendo dalla stazione a valle, si sviluppa un percorso suggestivo che si inerpica fino a Montecatini Alto tra olivi, boschi e declivi. La strada termina nei pressi della stazione alta della Funicolare. Lungo questo tragitto sono poste le stazioni della “via crucis”. Qui ogni anno in occasione del Venerdì Santo si svolge una processione.

B) Via Colloredo, Amore e Foresta

Proseguendo dalla stazione bassa della Funicolare lungo via Fedeli, dopo circa 500 metri, sulla destra, in località Casina Rossa, inizia un altro percorso adatto al trekking che circa a metà si dirama in due parti: quella di sinistra, chiamata via della Foresta perché appunto passa attraverso la foresta e giunge in zona Porta di Borgo davanti al monastero delle Benedettine passando accanto al campo sportivo; quella di destra, via Amore lungo la quale si trovano due antichi lavatoi in pietra testimonianza di usi e costumi del passato.

5th Itinerary – Trekking

A) La Corta

A charming path sets off next to the funicular railway departing from dowmhill station and winding its way up to Montecatini Alto through sloping olive groves and woods. The road ends in the hilltop funicular railway station. Along this route there are the stop-off points for the “Way of the Cross”. Here every year a procession takes place on Good Friday.

B) Via Colloredo, Amore and Foresta

Going further on from downhill funicular station along Fedeli Road, on the right, location “Casina Rossa”, after about 500 meters another route starts, suitable for trekking. Just halfway along, this path branches off in two directions: on the left, called Via della Foresta, because it goes through the forest reaching the Porta di Borgo area, opposite the Benedictine convent next to the sports field; on the right, Via Amore, where there are two old stone wash-houses, bearing witness of past customs.
